So like, yay, safeguarding the environment. Except for one small problem. Apple is including a cable, that is a Lightning toUSB-C charging cord, which is not going to work with the USB type A wall organize that Apple became and didn’t include because they figured you already had it, but then they give you a cablethat doesn’t work with it. So I guess that’s why the 12 Pros price is unchanged’ cause, they know they’re gonnamake an extra 20 bucks from everyone who’s buying either a charger or acable from the Apple Store.Well-played, unit Apple. Now we haven’t even mentionedthe HomePod Mini yet, which is too bad, becauseit’s actually kind of cool. It’s got an interestinginternal design that situates the Google Nest Mini’ssingle upward firing move to absolute shame. And it’s U1 Chip apparently enables some cool intelligent features, like automatically pairing in stereo with another HomePod Mini inthe same chamber, super cool. And Apple’s also adding afeature called Intercom, which lets members of a homegroup mail speedy messages , is not simply to other HomePods, but any Apple device in the group, nice.The real experiment of this thing though, will be whether Siri has come far enough to justify getting one of these, instead of a Google Assistantor Alexa-enabled speaker. And my guess is, come on, get real( chuckles) Like, let’s not( sighs) Anyway, the one bit of bad news from today is that we didn’t get to see the fabled AirPods Pro Studio headphones, or any reference whatsoeverto an ARM-powered Mac. And it’s still unclear whether we’ll encounter either of those beforethe end of the year. Which is fine. Because honestly, 2020 has been a little crazy. And I think we could all just use a escape.
